ENGL 409W - Teaching English in the Secondary Schools [GEWI] For secondary English education majors with focus on appropriate methods and materials for teaching language arts in grades 7-12. Special attention will be given to lesson planning, evaluation techniques and classroom management.
Credit 3 hrs May not be repeated for additional credit Grade Mode Normal (A-F) Course Rotation
Prerequisites - CURR 305 , LING 201 , One LITR course 300-399, and (ENGL 408W may be taken concurrently) Other Restrictions - The course is taken the term before student teaching, not open to students on academic probation, must have at least a 2.75 GPA in the major, and Initial Teacher Preparation Program admission is required for enrollment in this course.
