Master of Science in Exercise Physiology (EXP)

Admission Criteria:
Students must meet the following criteria:
- Graduate School Admission (Criteria)
- Bachelors Degree in a related field with a 2.75 GPA
- Completion of
- Human Anatomy (SPMD 201 or its equivalent),
- Human Physiology (SPMD 202 or its equivalent), and
- Exercise Physiology (SPMD 300 or its equivalent)
- Three letters of recommendation
Note: conditional admission for those with a Bachelors Degree in a non-related field will be considered, provided that the student completes Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, and Exercise Physiology courses approved by EMU with a B or better.

Program Requirements: 33 hours
Restricted Electives: 9 hours
Select a focused area of study of six hours in consultation with an advisor, and choose one free elective:

Any course from BIO, CHEM, DTC, PHED, PSY, or SPMD as approved by a graduate advisor
Culmination Project: 6 hours
Select from either option I or option II:
A comprehensive exam must be taken in addition to either option.
Applied Performance Physiology Track
This track consists of entirely online classes with an emphasis on the performance aspect of the Exercise Physiology discipline to accommodate distance based students. Program Requirements: 33 hours
Restricted Electives: 9 hours
Select a focused area of study of six hours and choose one free elective in consultation with an advisor. Culmination Project: 3 hours
A comprehensive exam must be taken in addition to this option. |
