SPGN 586 Practicum in Special Education


This course is only intended for students seeking an additional special education endorsement. The supervised practicum will take place for approximately six weeks with youth in local schools for the different endorsement categories (ASD, CI, EI, LD, POHI).

Credit 4 hrs May be repeated for additional credit, total credits not to exceed 12 hrs

Prerequisites -
Restriction by Major - Autism Spectrum Disorders [M.A.] , Learning Disabilities [M.A.] (Phased Out), Special Education (for Certified Teachers) [MAT] , Advanced Special Education Teaching Endorsement [Graduate Certificate]  
Restriction by Degree Type - Graduate standing

Department Permission is required

Teacher certification, prior endorsement in special education, and completion of at least 16 new special education-related coursework credits are required before enrollment. These 16 credits must include all concentration (ASD, CI, EI, LD, POHI) coursework.
