MGMT 670 Strategy Implementation for Firm Performance

According to a Harvard Business publication, global CEOs found that excellence in strategy execution was the number one challenge facing corporate leaders. While we know more about crafting strategy than implementing it, effective strategies often fail because of ineffective implementation. This course will focus on the tools, skills, and frameworks to allocate resources, measure performance, manage risk, and successfully implement strategy. In this course, students will gain insights from applied research case studies and opportunities to engage with peers in team discussions. Students will explore common challenges that prevent or derail execution and learn how to design systems and structures that help implement strategies effectively.
