As a language course sequence, GERN 221 and GERN 222 are designed to strengthen and improve students’ language skills (speaking, reading, listening and writing) at the appropriate level. The contents of the course enable students to develop an appreciation and understanding of other cultures (German-speaking countries of Europe), in the domains of literature, films, the arts, as well as linguistic, cultural and societal differences. The students are expected to express their knowledge and understanding of these topics in German.
