COSC 423 - Computer Operating Systems Computer operating systems functions and concepts. Processor allocation: multiprogramming and scheduling algorithms. Memory tasks and data management. The deadlock problem. Virtual memory, allocation strategies and analysis of their algorithms. Design, implementation and protection of I/O files. Survey of available computer operating systems.
