LITR 241 - Global Images, Narrative Worlds | GEGA A survey of fiction and film from around the world that elucidates the narrative structures in international fiction and film; illustrates how these structures influence the perception of other people and places; and demonstrates the ways in which narrative imagination promotes global awareness and cross-cultural understanding.
Credit 3 hrs Grade Mode Normal (A-F)
LITR 241 will draw on the considerable expertise of English Language and Literature Department faculty in both narrative theory and cultural studies, expertise which befits the host department for the Journal of Narrative Theory. This course concentrates on the narrative techniques found in fiction and film from around the world. Finally, the film series organized in conjunction with this course (provided room and instructor availability) will be open to the larger EMU community, not just to students officially registered for the class.
