ECON 436 - Health Economics


This course will use economic principles to gain a better understanding of the U.S. healthcare system, including Medicare and Medicaid. It will discuss the behavior and incentives of patients, medical care providers, third-party payers, and employers in medical care markets. It will also examine issues of quality, access, utilization, and allocation of resources within medical care markets.

Credit 3 hrs May not be repeated for additional credit
