To be able to communicate in French and appreciate linguistic and cultural similarities and differences, FRNH 122 students learn to produce through speaking and writing, and to understand through reading and listening, the elements of the French language necessary to be able to function at a basic level in a French-speaking environment. Instruction in FRNH122 provides examples of speaking and writing that native speakers use to accomplish real tasks; students learn to master these structures while developing a new perspective on their own language, and an appreciation of a foreign cultural viewpoint.
