CHEM 551 - Macromolecular Biochemistry This course considers the fundamental themes of nucleic acid biochemistry including DNA structure, folding, replication and repair mechanisms transcription; translation; gene regulation and techniques in recombinant DNA technology. Emphasis is placed on chemical mechanisms of these processes and targets for drug development. Text and literature articles are utilized.
