COSC 523 - Advanced Computer Organization Processor design, fixed and floating point arithmetic processing and nonarithmetic processing are studied. Topics covered: control design and microprogramming; memory organization and input-output; system organization. Case studies will be drawn from computer systems designed to make special types of processing more efficient: stack computers, pipelined processors and vector computer multiprocessing.
