GHPR 415 - Place, Race, and Ethnicity


This seminar introduces students to social theories of race and ethnicity through readings that explore the many intersections between race and ethnicity in geography, preservation, heritage interpretation, cultural memory, and tourism. Grounded in a critical race studies approach to understanding race and ethnicity, the course also emphasizes the spatial dimensions of race and the ways in which these patterns are produced through histories and geographies of privilege and oppression. Cross-Listed with AFC 415 GHPR 515 , and AFC 515
