COT 704 - Theoretical Frameworks in Technology The information revolution has granted a myriad of questions pertaining to the relationships between technology, social institutions and the human condition. The purpose of this course is to explore various extant theories that can be utilized as a heuristic guideline for developing a more lucid understanding of the relationships. Two main conceptual frameworks will be examined: Structural-Functionalism and Symbolic Interactionism. Several theories that are extensions of these frameworks will also be examined.
