SOCL 522 - Globalization: Race/Ethnicity, Class and Gender This course provides critical perspectives on the globalization process with race/ethnicity, class, and gender as the central themes. Topics may include: theoretical issues pertaining to the study of globalization; production and reproduction in the global economy; paid and unpaid labor and its relationship to globalization; development experience in East Asia and Russia; alternatives to corporate globalization; the reclaiming of the “commons”; global environmental issues raised by the consideration of race/ ethnicity, class, and gender.
