Rationale for Knowledge of the Disciplines - This course is designed specifically for non-science majors who are interested in learning more about the multitude of ways that chemistry impacts their daily lives. When combined with its associated lab course, CHEM 108 - How Chemistry Works , students actively participate in a well-rounded set of experiences to help them discover and apply fundamental chemistry topics and practices in the everyday world. Through both courses, students develop the skills to find and interpret quality resources that allow them to investigate topics of interest to them and how those topics relate to chemistry. In this manner, when both are taken CHEM 107 and CHEM 108 meet the Natural Science requirements in the Knowledge of the Disciplines  portion of the General Education  program.
