SOCL 465 Sociology of Revolution This course surveys major theoretical perspectives that have been used by social scientists to interpret and explain revolutions. With the aid of the best available theories, the course will examine a series of historical instances, ranging from the French Revolution of the 18th century, through the Russian and Chinese Revolutions, to recent revolutions in post-colonial or dependent countries, such as the Iranian Revolution.
