RECR 282L1 Backpacking [GELB] The history, knowledge, and skills required to participate in backpacking are introduced. Trip planning and preparation are presented. Trip topics include trip planning, meal planning and preparation, equipment, clothing, footwear, safety, and first aid. Site topics include: low impact, trail construction, backcountry travel, leadership, safety, backcountry etiquette, wildlife encounters, evacuation methods/procedures, and agency provider identification.
