SPAI 396 Family Dynamics with Autism Spectrum Disorders This course will be deleted effective Fall 2023 and replaced with SPAI 496 .
Explores impact of persons with autism spectrum disorder on family development. Highlights benefits of including people with autism and family members as lifelong participants, experts, and partners of the diagnostic/intervention team. Analyzes cases of collaboration in service delivery. Course topics will include the sociology of the family, the experience of parenting a child with a disability, and the perspectives of siblings of family members with disabilities.
