HIST 527 Europe from Absolutism to Revolution, 1648-1815 A political, social and cultural study of Europe from the Peace of Westphalia through the Napoleonic Era. Emphasizes the development of absolutism in France, constitutionalism in England, the Enlightenment and the French Revolution.
