NURS 500 Advanced Pathophysiology This course provides advanced knowledge of normal physiology and advanced pathophysiology from a system-focused approach. This knowledge provides the Advanced Practice Nurse with a well-grounded understanding of normal physiologic and pathophysiologic mechanisms of disease that serves as one component of the foundation for clinical assessment, decision-making, and management. The student should be able to relate this knowledge to interpreting changes in normal function resulting in signs and symptoms indicative of illness and assessing an individual’s response to treatment.
