PHIL 560 Philosophy of Language An examination of the philosophically important aspects of language. Possible topics include theories of meaning, analysis of referring and predication, the relation between language and reality, analysis of vagueness and metaphor, the role of language in philosophical method, the relation between language and necessary truth.
