PHY 671 Electromagnetic Theory Provides the student with a foundation in the classical theory of the Maxwell field equations and indicates the many current applications. Typical topics covered are: Maxwell’s equations, conservation laws, plane waves, wave guides, resonant cavities, dipole radiation, diffraction, radiation by moving charges, Bremsstrahlung, Cherenkov radiation, multiple fields, and plasma electrodynamics.
