EXSC 531 Pathophysiology This course focuses on how the body functions during the disease state. For common diseases and conditions, students first learn about (1) the etiology, or cause; (2) the pathophysiology, or disordered physiological processes; and (3) the epidemiology, or incidence, distribution, and possible control. Students then use the primary literature to determine whether or not exercise affects the etiology, pathophysiology, and epidemiology for the disease or condition.
