PHIL 520 Ethical Theory A systematic study of different approaches to ethical theorizing focused primarily on Western philosophical tradition. Specific topics may include; the objectivity, rationality, and authority of ethical norms; theories of what is good and why; accounts of moral standing; varieties of consequentialism and deontology; neo- Kantian and contractualist views; virtue theory; feminist ethics; existentialist ethics.
