GHPR 541 Material Culture Studies: Learning From Objects
This class will introduce students to the study of material aspects of culture by analyzing objects used by various cultures. A variety of methodological essays focused on what object study can reveal about the challenges and limitations of such inquiry will be used as will “how to” essays that will help students acquire skills needed to gain information from objects encountered in museum collections.
