PAS 710b Psychiatric Medicine Clinical Rotation The Psychiatric Medicine clinical rotation stresses hospital/ambulatory care with an emphasis on common psychiatric problems, psychosocial issues, and an introduction to the role of the psychiatric care provider. This course provides the student with the skills necessary to build a solid foundation for evaluating, documenting, diagnosing, and treating problems common in psychiatric and behavioral medicine. The primary learning methods will be participation in direct psychiatric and behavioral medicine care, observation, case presentations, and interaction with the clinical preceptor and other healthcare professionals. The student is responsible for reading assigned by the preceptor. Students will be primarily supervised by practicing physicians whom are specialty board certified in their area of instruction and/or PA-Cs teamed with the aforementioned physicians.
