PAS 710e Emergency Medicine Clinical Rotation The Emergency Medicine clinical rotation stresses emergency care medicine with an emphasis on emergent/urgent medical problems, psychosocial issues, and an introduction to the role of the Emergency Medicine care provider. This course is designed to provide the student with the basic skills necessary to build a solid foundation for evaluating, documenting, diagnosing, and treating problems seen in an emergency department practice setting. The student will develop proficiency in selected emergency care procedures commonly performed by emergency medicine providers. The primary learning methods will come from participation in direct emergency medicine care, observation, case presentations, and interaction with the clinical preceptor and other healthcare professionals. The student is responsible for reading assigned by the preceptor. Students will be primarily supervised by practicing physicians whom are specialty board certified in their area of instruction and/or PA-Cs teamed with the aforementioned physicians.
