PAS 710g Internal Medicine Clinical Rotation The Internal Medicine clinical rotation stresses inpatient and ambulatory primary care medicine with an emphasis on common medical problems, psychosocial issues, preventive care, and an introduction to the role of the Internal Medicine medical provider. This course will provide the student with the skills necessary to build a solid foundation for evaluating, documenting, diagnosing, and treating problems in hospital and ambulatory internal medicine practice settings. The student will develop proficiency in hospital and ambulatory procedures commonly performed by internal medicine providers. The primary learning methods will be participation in direct internal medicine care, observation, case presentations, and interaction with the clinical preceptor and other healthcare professionals. The student is responsible for the material in the required texts and the reading the preceptor(s) assigned. Students will be primarily supervised by practicing physicians whom are specialty board certified in their area of instruction and/or PA-Cs teamed with the aforementioned physicians.
