NURS 511 Advanced Pathophysiology Non-APRNs


This course provides select advanced knowledge of normal physiology and advanced pathophysiology from a system-focused approach. This knowledge provides the Nurse Educator with an understanding of normal physiologic and abnormal pathophysiologic mechanisms of common disease processes occurring throughout the lifespan. In addition, the student should be able to utilize this knowledge to anticipate changes in normal body function and related associated signs and symptoms. 

Credit 3 hrs May not be repeated for additional credit
Grade Mode Normal (A-F) Course Rotation Fall, Winter, and Summer (in-person and online)

Prerequisites -
Restriction by Major - Nursing Education [MSN] Nursing – Clinical Research Nursing [MSN]  
Restriction by Degree Type - Graduate standing

Additional Information - 1) RN to BSN students may request to take this course as an elective with department permission 2) Students enrolled in Clinical Nurse Specialists (MSN or DNP) or Nurse Practitioner (MSN or DNP) programs are not allowed to register for this course, as the course will not meet program requirements.
