JRNL 315 Data Journalism Data journalism is one of the fastest-growing areas in the journalism profession, and it requires quantitative, analytical, and technical skills in addition to traditional reporting and writing. This course will acquaint you with the basics of acquiring, cleaning, analyzing, visualizing, and interpreting information in tabular form—rows and columns. In addition, you will learn how to find data to tell stories and how to find stories in data. By the end of the semester, you will improve your understanding of numbers and quantification, as well as master tools and frameworks for presenting data stories to audiences.
