ASTR 503 Astronomy I


A nonmathematical descriptive course in astronomy to acquaint the teacher with the general field of astronomy. Many of the topics considered can be used in the elementary classroom. A study of the sun and its family of planets, as well as the stars and nebulae in the universe beyond the solar system. Naked-eye observations of the constellations and telescopic observations of the moon, planets, double stars and clusters. Not open to students who have credit in   or  .
