HIST 321 Women and Gender in the Ancient World An investigation of conditions of life for women in antiquity, focusing on the sex-gender system of Greek and Roman societies. Literary, inscriptional and other evidence will be studied to disclose the classical roots of western beliefs and attitudes about women.
