WRTG 301W Introduction to Professional Writing [GEWI]

What does it mean to be a Professional Writing major? This course functions as a foundation to the intellectual and practical work of the Professional Writing major. In this course, students will explore: what it means to compose as an individual, what it means to compose as a member of a professional organization, what it means to compose as a citizen, and what it means to compose as a member of an academic community. Students will cultivate theoretical expertise and gain practical experience in each of these contexts. Projects can include a literacy narrative, a workplace writer profile, rhetorical analysis of political or public policy debate, an annotated bibliography, and a final digital portfolio.
