COUN 671 Advanced Multicultural Counseling This seminar style course is designed to assist helping professionals in enhancing the knowledge and skill components of multicultural counseling. The course is designed for students who have already obtained a personal awareness of the importance of counselor and client race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic class, religion/spirituality, disability and sexual orientation, and the sociopolitical effects of these issues on the counseling process. This course is heavily experiential as there is a fieldwork component where students will practice using cultural competency skills.
