This program will prepare students to:
- Understand the application of economic principles to medical care issues.
- Understand the role of economic forces underlying the transformation of the medical care system.
- Explain the economic aspects and implications of contractual relationships between patients, providers, and insurers.
- Evaluate the quality, effectiveness, and cost of medical care.
- Understand the economic structure of the health care industry and how it affects the financing and delivery of medical care.

Program Admission
Applicants must meet the following requirements: - Complete a Graduate Application
- Submit official transcripts from all previously attended colleges/universities (EMU alums do no need to request official transcripts).
- Earned a four-year baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution, or an equivalent degree from a non-U.S. institution.
- A minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale, or 3.0 in the last half of the undergraduate program.
International Transcripts - Students with non-U.S. post-secondary credentials must submit an evaluation of their international transcripts from one of four approved evaluation services for a detailed, course-by-course report. Applicants should allow 2-6 weeks for the completed evaluation. Please visit International Admissions for additional information.
