Exercise Physiology [M.S.]

Revised Program [Fall 2020]
The Master’s in Exercise Physiology is deisgned for students interested in both clinical exercise physiology and performance/personal training related careers. The program is also designed to support students with backgrounds in other fields looking to make a change to exercise physiology.
This is a designated STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) program.

Program Admission
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Graduate School Admission (Criteria)
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with a 2.75 GPA
- Completion of Human Anatomy (EXSC 201 or an equivalent), Human Physiology (EXSC 202 or an equivalent), and Exercise Physiology (EXSC 300 or an equivalent)
- Three letters of recommendation
Note: Conditional admission for those with a Bachelor’s Degree in a non-related field will be considered, provided that the student completes Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, and Exercise Physiology courses approved by EMU with a B or better.

Degree Requirements: 33 hours
Additional Coursework: 12 hours
Students have the option of completing either 1) 12 credit hours of electives or 2) six credit hours in a culminating project and six credit hours of electives.
Restricted Electives: 6-12 hours
Culmination Project: 0-6 hours
Students who choose to complete a culmination project will select from either option I or option II.
