Program Admission

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Complete a Graduate Application
2. Submit official transcripts from all previously attended colleges/universities (EMU alums do no need to request official transcripts). 

   International Transcripts - Students with non-U.S. post-secondary credentials must submit an evaluation of their international transcripts from one of four approved evaluation services for a detailed, course-by-course report. Applicants should allow 2-6 weeks for the completed evaluation. Please visit International Admissions for additional information.

3. Earned a four-year baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution, or an equivalent degree from a non-U.S. institution.
4. A minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale, or 3.0 in the last half of the undergraduate program.
5. Hold a valid teaching credential

• RDNG 657 - Comprehension and the Content Areas 3 hrs
• RDNG 658 - Reading and Writing and the Inquiry Process 3 hrs

• RDNG 630 - Literacy Instruction in a Multilingual Society 3 hrs
• RDNG 654 - Integrating New Literacies in Reading and Writing Instruction 3 hrs
