Students are to choose one course in Global Awareness [GEGA] and one course in US Diversity [GEUS]

Courses applicable to Perspectives on a Diverse World may also be listed as courses within Knowledge of the Disciplines. Students may NOT use the same course to meet both General Education requirements. Courses taken to satisfy General Education requirements may also count toward major or minor requirements.

Note for Veterans: Upon receipt of an official DD214 (honorable discharge), the General Education Program will recognize a student’s military service by only requiring completion of the Global Awareness or U.S. Diversity requirement, not both.

Global Awareness [GEGA]

Because of the interconnectedness of nations, very few organizations function solely in the U.S. We all need to understand the world in which we live; to be informed citizens, we need to be able to think about and understand other cultures. By studying a number of nations or one nation in depth, students learn the skills for understanding other cultures. Choose one course from the following.
