GEOG 348 - Teaching Social Studies in Elementary Schools Survey of the social studies and evaluation of methods commonly used in the teaching of social studies in the elementary grades, with special emphasis on inquiry. Types of activities most effective in the presentation of materials and the use of visual aids are featured. A study of maps and globes, controversial issues, social values, environmental education, consumer education, global education and ethnic groups is included.
