DTC 230 - Fundamentals in Nutrition Therapy Students will be introduced to fundamental concepts of the significance of Nutrition screening and Nutrition Assessment: anthropometric and body composition measures; significance of biochemical and medical tests; nutrition-focused physical examination; estimation of energy and protein requirements. Additional topics: blood and its components; fluids and electrolytes; pharmacology as it relates to drug-nutrient interactions. These essential core concepts will prepare students for DTC 330 and DTC 331L4 .

Prerequisites - DTC 202 with a “C” or higher Restriction by Major - Dietetics [BS] or Dietetics-Intent Restriction by Class - Undergraduate standing
