GERN 442 - Survey of German Literature: Enlightenment to 1945 This course begins with the Sturm and Drang period (1767-1790) and traces the development of German literature up through 1945. Representative literary texts will be analyzed against the backdrop of their socio-historical context and in light of contemporary criticism and cultural movements of the time.
