STAT 474W Applied Statistics [GEWI] This course stresses the empirical approach to statistics: Monte Carlo methods to generate samples and to model distributions; tests of fit to assumed distributions; medians vs. means and range vs. standard deviations; demonstrations of basic theorems; randomness and independence.
