PHIL 495W Phenomenology [GEWI]


This course engages with the history and development of the phenomenological movement from its origins in the work of Husserl to its later developments by such thinkers as Heidegger, Sartre, and Merleau-Ponty. This course may focus on a major figure or a major theme in the phenomenological tradition. It may also study the impact of phenomenology on such varied fields as psychology, sociology, and literature.

Credit 3 hrs May not be repeated for additional credit
Grade Mode Normal (A-F) Course Rotation once every two years

Prerequisites - One PHIL course (100-499) excluding PHIL 120  and PHIL 130 . Recommended: PHIL 331W  or PHIL 260
