Rationale for Perspectives on a Diverse World - Introduction to Gender and Sexuality meets the requirements of the General Education  Program in the U.S. Diversity  area by demonstrating the ways in which gender and sexual conditioning influence the experiences of men and women and shape their sense of identity as it intersects with different classes, racial or ethnic groups, and sexualities. The course helps students to understand and explore the ways in which these complex constructions and attitudes towards gender and sexuality lead to prejudice in the spheres of family, education, employment, health, politics and the media.
