PHIL 481W Philosophy of the Life Sciences [GEWI] This course will focus on philosophical issues relevant to one or more of the following topic areas: the concepts and methods of the Life Sciences (e.g. Biology, Psychology, and Environmental Sciences), the biological possibility of altruism, the nature of selection, whether there are biological laws, whether there are psychological laws, the nature of empathy, the reducibility of mental phenomena, and the nature of explanation, justification, and methods of inquiry in the life Sciences.
Credit 3 hrs May not be repeated for additional credit Grade Mode Normal (A-F) Course Rotation once every two years
