SWKE 441 Introduction to Motivational Interviewing This social work course focuses on Motivational Interviewing, a counseling approach using client-worker collaborative conversations designed to strengthen motivation and commitment to behavior change. Students will learn to evoke and strengthen clients’ motivation and progress toward a specific goal, resolve ambivalence, and explore reasons for change, values, and interests.
