WRTG 225 Writing in the Disciplines How do writing practices vary across academic disciplines? In this intermediate composition course, students will take a discipline-specific approach to writing. Students will examine and produce writing intended to participate in scholarly conversations in various fields of academic inquiry, paying particular attention to genres, conventions, audiences, research methods, and systems of attribution within those contexts.
Projects can include an inquiry-driven research project into the writing practices of a specific discipline (the student’s intended major), rhetorical analysis of various citation practices, and a digital portfolio that documents students’ discipline-specific writing knowledge and practices.
