PHY 325 Methods of Teaching the Physical Sciences A study of strategies and procedures used in secondary school teaching. Students will be provided with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the newer science curricula; visit secondary school classrooms; present classroom demonstrations and conduct laboratory work; learn to use modern teaching aids, especially the computer, in classroom teaching; and develop means of evaluating cognitive and affective learning. Two recitations and two laboratory hours per week. Open to prospective teachers following the junior-senior high school curriculum who are majoring or minoring in integrated science or physical science.

Initial Teacher Preparation Program admission is required for enrollment in this course. Not open to students on academic probation.
Additional Information - Students only have the choice of a methods class if pursuing Secondary Education Integrated Science Comprehensive [BS] or Elementary Education Integrated Science Comprehensive [BS] (Shelved until 24/25) . Students who do not meet prerequisite requirements may request department permission to enroll in the course.
