NURS 656 NP Seminar and Practicum I This focused seminar course and clinical practicum provide students with the knowledge and skills to promote health, prevent illness, and manage common acute and chronic conditions in the primary care setting for adults across the lifespan. Students will be under the mentorship of the course faculty and approved preceptor over the course of the semester. Seminar topics will focus on the care of the geriatric patient population. Students must complete 90 clinical practicum hours in urgent care, primary care, or outpatient specialty clinic over the semester.
Credit 2 hrs May not be repeated for additional credit Grade Mode Normal (A-F) Course Rotation Winter (in-person and online)
Prerequisites - NURS 500 , NURS 502 , NURS 611 , (NURS 506 or NURS 810 ), (NURS 640 or NURS 851 ), (NURS 608 may be taken concurrently), and (NURS 664 may be taken concurrently)
Restriction by Major - PCNP , DNP-GCNS Restriction by Degree Type - Graduate standing
