BIO 425 - General Microbiology A lecture and laboratory course on the nature and biology of bacteria and other microbes, their physiological relationships in natural and controlled environments, and the interactions of pathogenic microorganisms with their hosts. Laboratory includes an introduction to the techniques of isolating, cultivating, and identifying bacteria and other microbes, and their physiological, serological and pathological properties.

Prerequisite(s) BIO 301 and (CHEM 270 or CHEM 372 ) (A minimum grade of “C” is required in all prerequisite courses) Completing CHEM 451 is highly recommended.
